Lycan it to...

Lycans and werewolves and vampyres...oh my!

Lycans must be where the term doggystyle comes from, no?

Am I wrong?

I remember that scene from Underworld: Rise of the Lycans with the Lucian the Lycan getting under Sonja the Vampyre's skin in a good, consensual and orgasmic way. I'll go out on a limb (well, they did it on a cliff in the film, but close enough), and say that his visible body wasn't the only hard part she was enjoying.

Speaking of hard, I've been much too quiet over the past five years. Time to put the gloves back on. You know, for typing.

Protection first!

I'm not certain that Lycans, werewolves, and vampyres are fiction, anymore. The question is, who is who?

We've watched the US, as one example, where predators have been voted in as leaders at many different levels, including the presidency in 2016. In the 2020 US election, that particular predator was voted out again and replaced by the "best of evils"...a sheep. With recent state elections, I cannot help but wonder if that very predator that won in 2016 may be back in the White House in three more years.

The US is not the only realm that we have seen this going on, but it is certainly the biggest example of a severe pushback from the right wing.

"Freedom is not in the right to own a gun. True freedom is in the right to walk around knowing that I don't have to." - Master Jibberish

Good as many of the changes offering inclusivity and equality are, it would appear that they are seen by many as too much, too fast. Being that US predator-president has rape allegations and questions about using election money to hush pornstars which are nothing more than annoyances, it would seem there was a severe step backwards after the Obama.

That's right. I said "the Obama."

The rightwing tends to believe in complete personal freedoms. When any of those freedoms are threatened in any form, it is viewed as an attack.

Here is where the blame-the-victim mentality appears.

The moment that someone being oppressed decides they don't want to be oppressed anymore, that infringes on the personal freedoms of the oppressor to oppress.

Again, in the US, just look at how right wing states are now going to make it harder for non-whites to vote. Look at how, in Canada, the Pope tried to ignore the finding of unmarked graves at church-run residential schools. Look at how no one discusses how much Jewish money was put into Swiss banks for safe-keeping before World War II, but never came out after.

Just three examples of what capitalism and greed for power can do.

Just imagine what happens in the US if that predatory ex-president gets re-elected in 2024.

McFly! Anybody in there?

So who is the bad guy in all this? Who is the protagonist?

Well, us, of course.

We have to stop blaming the victim and start accepting that we have too much freedom that is better classified as entitlement. Maybe not as entitlement, but as in systematic oppression...racism or classism, take your pick.

Like those Lycans in the Underworld franchise, those that have been oppressed are not t

he bad guys we make them out to be.

Us, turning a systematic blind eye when we get uncomfortable looking at just what we, as a society, have done...we are the bad guys.

By the way, Greta is right. We are doomed.

With this in mind, my next post will be steamy. We need more steam to help us not see the disaster we've created.
